well actually most would say less is more but i don't wear any at all i go for a cleaner look i am happy with myself and only wear it for stage performances or times when my picture will be taken with all that lighting and stuff because you have to. stupid debutante things but every day is clean and i don't damage my skin however you if you still want to wear it less is so much more

Drink lots of water. It hydrates the skin making it healthier and reduces the need for gross foundation and concealer that can make it worse.
Don't over do it, you will end up looking like a painted hussy. Natural is best.
wipe the excess of eyeliner with a cotton swab.
