I need make up advice for a Christmas party/dance?

I am fair-skinned, light-blue eyed, brunette (with alot of red). I am going to be wearing a black halter-style dress, cinched at the chest with a silver %26amp; rhinestone circle.

I have no idea how to do my make up for this, what colour of lipstick or even brand.

I've searched on the net, but can't really come up with anything. Ideas? Suggestions? Been-there done thats?I need make up advice for a Christmas party/dance?
Go to Sephora or Ulta (Sephora.com/Ulta.com). Since the dress is black, I'd go with a more colorful pallet for your makeup... I'd go with the warmer colors because you have red in your hair. For eyeshadow, I'd go with a silver all over the lid and maybe a darker grey for the lash line. Black liner and Mascara. I would do a pinky/redish blush. Red Lips!! It doesn't have to be BRIGHT red, jsut maybe a redish color, for the holidays. Easy on the dark shadow on your eyes though, don't go too heavy, just make it a little bit smokey... you'll be HOT!! Remember this though: Pick one feature to be bolder in the makeup- eyes or lips, don't do a really dark smokey eye and bright red lips, one or the other! Good luck and have fun!!I need make up advice for a Christmas party/dance?
If you are fair skinned, I wouldn't go with anything dark. You'll look like a vampire! Stay with neutral tones on everything, especially lipstick. There's alot of product lines in dept. stores that have everything you need in one package. All the eyecolors are in a row w/ matching eyeliner. Go shopping!
since u are wearing black dress, u have a lot of colors to choose from. i think since u have blue eyes, w/ red streaks in ur hair, a nice pink (or lavendar) eyeshadow would look good. so get a light shade of pink, cover ur lid from lash line to brow. then get a darker pink and add to the outer crease of the eyelid for depth. get some black eyeliner (pencil OR liquid), and tilt head back looking Down into the mirror. apply at inner corner of the eye, stay as close to lash line as possible. follow closely until u hit 3/4 of the way. instead of following the eye downwards, go straight out and UP to create a little cat eye. when u look normally into the mirror u will see that ur eyes look more Open... add some mascara to Top lashes, and on lower lash line, apply a Highlighter eyeshadow or pencil in gold, silver or white.

as for lipstick, i have a thing for Gloss. so i would suggest a nice cranberry/fruit punch type of color (slight mix of pink and red). i use Revlon Lip glides which is pretty nice. oh and u need blush if it's a night party!! try creams (dry skin), or powders (oily skin)
With light-blue eyes u should try putting on a light coat of eyeshadow first and then outline ur eyes with dark eye-shadow, and 2 layers of mascara. Also put eyeliner on because without eyeliner ur eyes wont come out. as for the lips, put on light pink lipstick then one coat of lip gloss to give it a shine. So that it looks like ur natural lips. and try to wear a foundation that is exactly like ur skin so that it does not look to over.
for your eyes, go with lavender shades. I lighter shade across the entire lid and a darker shade in the crease, blending it outward. Use a black pencil eyeliner, then go over that area with the darker shade of lavender, you can use the edge of the eyeshadow applicator to do so.

As for lipstick, keep it neutral, but not too light. You don't want to go with a metallic look b/c of the silver %26amp; rhinestones on teh dress. A great neutral product is ';Too Faced'; Lip Plumpper, you wouldn't need a color, it gives a nice natural look, but still brings out your lips.

Brands...depends on how much you want to spend. Bare Escentuals has great make-up, it's more pricey (Sephora or Ulta), but it lasts forever!

On the less expensive side, I really like Maybelline's wet lipstick, has a nice look to it, they also have good trio-eyeshadows in lavender.

Best mascara...Covergirl ';Lash Exact';

Good luck and have fun.
Hey there,

You can have a dramatic look since are wearing a black dress and you have blue eyes. I would go with black eye shadow to give that smouldering look. I would also use smudged pencil black eye liner. I would highlight underneath your brow line with a neutral light beige eye shadow.. Your cheeks a pale pink. For your lips, stick with a neutral gloss.

OR

You can have liquid eyeliner only on the top of your lid along

the eyelash line. Black mascara. Pale neutral beige eye shadow.

Red lipstick.

Check out some fashion magazines on-line for reference.

Good luck!
