Good tips and advice in building a make-up artist portfolio? How do you present your work to an angency? Help!

I'm ready to build up my portfolio but I need some advice.

What are the best type of pics for it? How do I present my work to an agency? How's the interviewing process?

Anykind of help and information will be appreciated. Thanks!Good tips and advice in building a make-up artist portfolio? How do you present your work to an angency? Help!
I'm not exactly sure about this... but I was in mary kay for awhile and made a booklet of before and after photos after I did different girl's make overs and I actually got a lot of business from it. So while you're buiding your portfolio, find people and do before and after's of them.... get a variety of different ';looks'; to show.Good tips and advice in building a make-up artist portfolio? Just an FYI so you don't sound like you don't know what your talking about on Model Maayhem if you get on.. TFP/TFCD is TRADE FOR Print or TRADE FOR CD... NOT time for.. :) Report Abuse

A great way to get started on a portfolio is to do TFP shoots(time for print). You will need to have a variety of work to show off your talent. Natural look, glamour makeup, High fashion (crazy stuff). Join Model Mayhem (modelmayhem.com). It is free! It is a forum that you can learn so much from other artists, and meet up with models and photographers in your area that want to collaborate and make awesome pics for their books too! (I am #505920, say hi once you are on!)

I would recommend getting a full portfolio of knockout pics before attempting to set up an appointment with an agency. A lot of makeup artists think an agency is the way to go, they don't realize that an agency will take a certain percentage (sometimes 20-40%) of the money from the job for landing that client for you. If you want your portfolio to look professional, don't do before and after (unless you wanna book weddings and proms forever), it shows you are not as experienced. Call agencies in your area and ask what size photos they prefer (some want 8x10, others 9x12 or 11x14), and I do have a couple of black and white images, It can really show off your contouring skills :)
I used to do movie makeup (like the blood and gore stuff), but I also do professional beauty makeup sometimes. To build your portfoilo I would suggest many kinds of photos. You would definately want black and whites, sepia, but mostly color shots. Add in some of your creative work too. I would put an add in the newspaper for some volunteer models. Request them to have no makeup on and no blemishes. Also ask them to have their eyebrows done the day before the photoshoot. All the models need to have a before headshot. You also need your models to sign a release form stating that you own the rights to their photos. You will want closeup shots of eyes, lips, cheeks, and before and afters. Another thing to consider is looking at makeup ads in magazines for inspiration. Make sure your photos are in focus. Your portfolio will need actual photos (not copies printed on paper). Also, many industries now require all your photos backed up on a high resolution disk (so they can send them to others in their department). During an interview you will be asked the obvious questions, like how long you have been doing this, but they will test your product knowlede. What founation color would go on someone with combination olive skin? When you find an agency, you need to call them for an appointment to see them. Do not just mail in your work. Well, good luck!
well no black and white pictures. do peoples make up and then take it to any agency. DO NOT MAIL IT. take it straight to them. the interviewing is nothing big but you need to know things about make up.

Benefit make up advice?

I bought brand new Benefit Dandelion Blush/powder a seller on Ebay. Ive just tried it and when i sweeped my brush across it it seemed to break into loose particles. Is this the way it is supposed to be.

How do i know if its fake? Thanks.Benefit make up advice?
Personally, I would be cautious when buying high-end cosmetics on Ebay because there are so many fakes. You could take it to a store that carries Benefit and compare it. It sounds like it's old or was not stored at the right temp. Try tapping the brush before applying it; this should get rid of the loose powder. When buying anything off of Ebay, you should make sure they have a return policy.Benefit make up advice?
Sarah,

I would not be surprised if that blush is made in China. I keep pointing out to people on this forum to steer clear of china junk makeup. Like you I've had bad experiences with made in china trash makeup.

I found this American brand called Coonobabe. Made in USA, quality is excellent. plus they ship 4 free anywhere in the world.

Perhaps in the future I suggest you check them out for your makeup needs. you get what you pay for when you get cheap china junk.

Eye make up advice, please?

I have mascara, liquid eye liner, kohl pencil and eye shadow.

What order do I put them on in?

Simple question, I know but I want to look my best.Eye make up advice, please?
Firstly if you want to look your best make sure you follow the rule of dark eyes, light lips, light eyes, dark lips, unless you are going for a completely natural look.

I always make sure I have cleansed, toned and moisturised before applying make-up.

Personally I wouldn't use liquid eyeliner at all if you are not use to applying it as it is difficult to remove if you make a mistake.

Apply a base eyeshadow all over the eye I usually use a cream colour with shimmer. Then add the colour eyeshadow if it is the evening you can put the shadow all around the eye to add definition. Then I would use a pencil liner followed by mascara.

Good luck.Eye make up advice, please?
I find it funny someone says eyeliner makes your eyes bigger... I find it makes my eyes look smaller, so I don't use it that often unless I'm going for dark and/or bold. Otherwise I go without for a the bright and open eyed look. But anyway... onto your question:

Eyeshadow always first, kohl pencil, eyeliner and then mascara always last. The middle two doesn't seem to matter which order if you choose to wear both - but powders first, liquids last - like someone else said, the powder is a bit messier and the liquid of the mascara covers up any powder dusted onto the lashes.
liquid eye liner, best to apply before mascara with mascara on can be a little tricky, then the eye shadow followed by the pencil, mascara is the last to apply
What I do is first Kohl Pencil, the Eyeshadow, then liquid eye liner and lastly mascara. If you put on eye shadow after liquid eye liner, then it will oddly stick to the eye liner. Also applying eye shadow and liquid liner will get hard to do if you apply mascara before either of them. Hope I helped!

~SmS~
I usually avoid using both kohl pencil and liquid eyeliner, just because I think they look different and I don't like the way the combination fits my eyes.

I usually put eyeliner / pencil first, then eye shadow to tone it down, then mascara in the end.
kohl pencil, eye shadow, liquid eye liner, and then mascara
eye shadow first, cos its powdery and a bit messy; then liquid eyeliner to neaten your top lid; then kohl pencil for the rest and finally mascara as it will cover any powder etc that dusted your eyelashes. simply logical!

eye shadow first then liquid eye liner, mascara and kohl pencil :)
It doesn't matter either way whether you put your eyeshadow or kohl pencil on first but when you've done both of those, then put your liquid liner on and finish with mascara. Easy, and it's worked for me for at least ten years!

I read a step by step makeup application guide by Pamela Anderson's makeup artist once from a website and this is the order that is used on her. Although I don't wear quite as much makeup as her, I love the way Pam looks and that's how I've always put my eye makeup on since then.
eye shadow,mascara,liquid eye liner,kohl pencil
Shadow , Eyeliner, Kohlpencil and Mascara

Good luck
Eyeshadow, kohl, liquid eyeliner, mascara. Although, do you really need kohl and liquid eyeliner?
eyeshadow

liquid eyeliner

kohl

mascara
but it depends what kind of eyes you have. if you have round and big eyes, you don't need eyeliner because it will just make your eyes bigger. eyeliners are good for small eyes. eyeshadow? if you have deep-set eyes, use light/pastel colors wether it's night or day. dark colored eyeshadows will just make deep-set eyes deeper. puffy eyes must go with dark colored eyeshadows. mascara? use them to show those sexy eye lashes.
eye shadow, Kohl pencil, eye liner then mascara.
Eyeshadow, liquid eyeliner and then once its dries the kohl and finally mascara

  • Mac make up advice anyone?

i want to buy some mac foundation as it seems to have very good reviews. i cant decide between studio tech or the full coverage one though. i dont have a great complexion, due to being quite rosy cheeked and suffer with blackheads and big pores. i want something that won't come off easily and will give me a really nice, even finish to my skin. any advice anyone?Mac make up advice anyone?
I have used Mac makeup for a few years and I would recommend the Full Coverage. It covers any flaws or blemises that you may have but it still looks natural. The thing I really like about the makeup is that it is not heavy and stays on until you wash it off. Don't forget to pickup some blush when you buy the makeup.Mac make up advice anyone?
I have got the mac full coverage foundation/powder in one and to be honest I wouldn't recommend it. I use it on top of my foundation to get a smooth finish but I found by using it as a foundation it didn't blend well and it looked so crap I ended up washing it off. I got it cheap on holiday in America but I'll not be buying it again. I also have the mascara which is not very good either, it really smudges and goes on too thick. The only thing I was impressed with was the Lipglass (gloss) I bought but overall I would say try cheaper brands like rimmel and maybelline for your foundation. I have tried Clinique, YSL, Ruby %26amp; Millie, benefit, as well as mac and have not liked any of them, maybe it's just my skin type or something but I would say keep your money for something else :)
i am also rosy cheeked and mac full coverage is great. gives a natural/nude look. looks clean..hides splotches/blemishes
i wou ldnt use mac, only because its so much oils and things they used. and so expensive.

for the type of skin you described to me i think you should use bare minerals... its light ! it covers GREAT and its easy to take off
Studio Tech is the best one. It's great for poor complexions and gives a lovely finish and lasts for ages!
MAC tends to break out oily skin. I would use something to decrease the redness on your skin (Aveeno makes a great redness reducing moisturizer with SPF) and treat the blackheads with a weekly exfoliation (Avon Anew exfoliator in the white tube is outstanding. Make sure you rinse well though!) and you will find that your skin looks a lot better quickly. The Aveeno moisturizer works very quickly, you should see reduction in redness by the next day
Mac is really good, my advise is always try before you buy, so ask for a tester pot that you can take home and trial it out first. Bobbi Brown is also very good.
just for skin care and make up tips in

you can buy mineral makeup from the body shop. its worth buying.. and it will last a very long time. It is a little expensive, but its worth it.. and im not even making it up.

    Make-up advice for odd coloring?

I say it's odd because I hardly see a person with my coloring/features.

I have light, but not fair, skin with red undertones, my eyes are very light blue with hints of light green and a dark blue ring around the iris, and my hair is light golden brown which turns an auburn/orange light brown color from the sun.

What would you suggest for any make-up to go with my coloring? I've tried all black, black and gray, black and brown, black and purple, green, green and purple...just about everything, but it never looks good.

(A side note, my cheeks are rosey and I have dark brown lashes, and freckles on my cheeks.)Make-up advice for odd coloring?
In general ,warm pastel colors may work well on you (light pinks, light peach...)

    Eyes

    - Black mascara (as far as I'm concerned), looks great on everybody.

    - If you feel your eye color needs to stand out more, use eyeshadow in contrasting tones such as light bronzes and peaches. I hesitate to say brown because that is more in the yellow undertones family. If you find a brown with more reddish tones, then go for that.

    Lips:

    - I see sheer and glossy working well for you. Again, pinks, peaches, nudes, and even plums (with more red than blue)

Good luck!Make-up advice for odd coloring?
Hello I am french, and I am the same as U.

Black eyepowder is too dark for us. I have tried too, and the result is that the black dominates everything else.

You should choose colors close to golden brown. A golden brown powder eyeshadow is perfect to underline the blue of our eyes without being too strong and heavy.

I am used to use two kinds of golden brown. but these are not really brown: the darker one has a touch of coppered/bronze, the other one is beige. (nivea actually sells a trio with perfect colors: here is the french link: http://www.nivea.fr/frameset.php (I use the ';sienna';)

This is perfect because it feets to my hairs in winter and summer...

I am also used to sometimes have a very light pink/white eyeshadow when going out. Contrary to the dark make up, at night it gives a much more healthy appearance in the dark... and I look less tired than with darker colors...

Also try the ';champagne'; color. which is between a very light grey and ivory.

If you like your eyes you can complete it with a black eyeliner, and a good black or brown mascara!!!

I definitely think that these are the best colors you can use...

Same for your lips, keep natural tones. Differents kinds of beige/brown and light coffee could feet to you. Shining or not....!

Tell me if you try, I would like to know if you are satisfied!!!
I would use browns. Because you are so light and you have so many colors going on you want to stay away from colors that distract from your natural beauty. The colors you have tried would probably look fine if you had brown eyes but since you have green/blue you should try naturals browns, pinks, maybe a slight rust color. But all very light.
With your coloring it should be easy. You're a natural. You are probably wearing too much. You said your cheeks are rosey already, wear very MINIMAL blush if any. As for your eyes, I would go with neutral colors, they never give the impression of ';BAM';. Try browns, coppers, golds, and go light with them blending. Darker near your lashes and use a lighter color as you blend up close to your brows. Use a light brown brow pencil (It does a HUGE difference), but don't make a bold line... BIG mistake I see there. Avoid much eyeliner. It seems like that would give you the ';BAM'; impression with your tones. If you do want to go with eyeliner, try a light brown. And lips, just go with something subtle, that matches your eyeshadow. I have similar tones as you, and I have such a fun time with make-up, I LOVE IT! I actual am a consultant for Mary Kay, and my mother is too.
Natural color and use black eyeliner and mascara.
for your face, green covers red and purple covers olive tones but use a skin coloured foundation on top and use brown tones on your eyes
don't use blacks. those will empasize the different shades of color in your face. try using a really light gold.
The more crayons in the pack you buy the more likely you are to find odd colors. Some are named really weird, but you have to try each of them and decide which colors you think are odd. Odd colors are in the eye of the color-er.
instead of foundation use a tinted moisturizer and powder.

eyes: try nude colors (neutral beige, browns); brown makes the blue even bluer.

try a peachy/salmon color in cheeks and lips.
Go to a cosmetic store like MAC and have the reps. do your makeup. This way, you will know which colors work for you. MAC has the greatest selection of colors.
NO make at all. Simplicity. Just gloss, mascara and maybe some eyeliner. Keep your eyebrows waxed and you're good to go.

But maybe coral/orange colors and golds will look good.
It's really hard to answer this question without actually seeing a picture of you!

You might want to try going to your local department store or salon and having a make-up artist do your make-up. She/he will be able to see your skin and tell you what colours would look best on you.
almay makes eye make-up for your eye color. you could mix it up like, the eyeliner and mascara for green eyes and the shadow for blue eyes. or visa versa. if you want a foundation get something that is a neutral color but get the true blend.

Also anything with pink/red in it brings out blue eyes too(:Make-up advice for two different girls ?
YOU : Black mascara %26amp; eyeliner can sometimes be dramatic but I find it looks amazing on blondes, especially girls with blue eyes. It makes their eyes stand out.

But if your going for a more natural look, do brown eyeliner %26amp; and dark brown mascara.

FRIEND : I suggest smokey colours like grey, black, brown, purple %26amp; blue.

because she has fair skin and blue eyes it would bring out her eyes more and make them brighter.

don't go with orange or really bright colours because that would reduce the eyes from standing out.

anything dark or smokey would look great :)

and for the lips do something really simple like clear lipgloss.
Since you girls have blue eyes, i think both of you could wear same colors.Brown, bronze, copper and orange will definitely make your blue eyes pop.

my recommendation for eyeshadow:stila holly golightly, milani java bean (bronze), NYX 10 colors palette (for your eyes only) in 'sexy blue eyes'.

    hope that helps! :)
guess both of u gurls can wear the same colors of makeup ..

  • Make UP Advice: Cool, Warm, Neutral??

I have kinda wierd features, and not sure

what colors are right for me. As of right now

i dont wear anything but mascara. I usually

have pretty clear skin so i dont wear much.

    1. I have very fair skin, some light freckles

    2. My hair is a dark auburn (dark brown w/ red highlights)

    3. My eyes are Aqua-Marine ( greenish-blue im serious )

I usually just end up not wearing any.Make UP Advice: Cool, Warm, Neutral??
I am guessing ';neutral'; because you have cool eyes %26amp; warm-toned hair. But here are some clues:

People with cool tones look best in jewel toned clothing (think ruby red, sapphire blue, emerald green), pure white, and silver jewelry. Also, when you look at the underside of your wrists, your veins will look bluish-purple.

People with warm tones look best in earth tones (think olive green, chocolate brown, oranges), off white, and gold jewelry. The veins on the underside of their wrists look bluish green.

If you're neutral, you're probably sitting here thinking, well, I can wear almost any color, pure white OR off-white, gold OR silver, and the veins on my wrist just look blue!Make UP Advice: Cool, Warm, Neutral??
It sounds like you don'teven need to wear makeup.
warm- freckles are a dead give-away that you are warm- of that werent enough then there are the red highlights
you wear kajal(kohl) to enhance the look of your eyes.and wear brown lip color.
    dont wear any makeup

    natural look is best
    I have a couple suggestions

1.) Since you have greenish- blue eyes try using green, brown ,violet, tan, beige colors for an eye shadow

2.) I also have very fair skin never wear powder consealer (BAD RESULTS) Try using Dream Matte from L'Oreal.

    3. Never wear black eyeliner because you have dark hair it will make you look terrible, try navy or brown.

4.) For Lipstick try a color gloss from N.Y.C, but make sure it is 3 shade darker or lighter than your orginal lip color. ( NO LIP LINER OR ELSE YOU WILL LOOK LIKE A TRAMP) Good Luck!

Any Make-up advice to soften my husband's heart?

He is angry with me for losing something that was special to him. I have been giving him space for the last day and a half. What should I do? Anybody have any ideas that have had good results for them? Thanks!Any Make-up advice to soften my husband's heart?
Well, have you tried apologizing? If my wife does something that makes me mad, but she gets all sorry about it and sad for me so that I know she's sincere, I just can't stay mad at her. (The scenario I just described happens VERY rarely, by the way!)Any Make-up advice to soften my husband's heart?
I had a similar thing happen just the other night, I bought him a bouquet of flowers and a card that just happened to have all the right words already on it. I really thought he would gag at this but he was so floored about getting flowers, he gave me a giant kiss and apologized to. It was pretty funny after that cuz he didn't know how to put them in a vase and it really made him happy. I'm telling you I didn't think it would work either.
Leave him alone....if he pouts much longer..ignore him. Jeez - what the heck did you lose?
jeez, it's not like you did it on purpose, is it?

A sincere apology is always a good thing. Just keep saying how very and sincerely sorry you are and how you know how much it meant to him and you didn't meant to do it.

If after some time he refuses to accept your apology, it's time to tell him you've apologize enough and are done with it. And maybe done with him. Men who sulk are so unattractive.
Can the item be replaced? If so try to replace it, if not cook him his favorite mean or take him out to eat. While eating tell him just how sorry you are, and that by him not talking to you isn't going to bring the item back.
I'd just say, ';I'm really sorry.'; and leave it at that.
Send him a singing telegram. It will be funny and sweet and will defuse the situation.

    Good luck
    what was it?
Is it something you can replace? Have you torn the entire house apart?

He should just forgive you. I'm sure he will still be upset.. But...check the house again over and over. Maybe it is there. OR find out if you can replace it in the meantime.

I would give him space too. We have no idea how special it was, you didn't say. I guess we need to know that first.

Give him the space first and see what happens.
Buy him a cake or bake one that says

    ';Im sorry, please forgive me';.

I almost gave away something that was given to him by his deceased grandfather.

Whoa im glad he was able to stop me.
Do that thing you do with your mouth?

    Back to school make-up advice?

I'm back to school tomorrow and i have no idea what to do with my hair and make-up.

My hair (brown) is curly but i am straightening it tonight. What do i do with it and also what make-up do i wear. My school isn't that strict on make-up, if it's like eyeliner, mascara and foundation.Back to school make-up advice?
its best to just keep your hair natural, but if u really want to put it up, go for a high ponytail. If u have a high ponytail, it will show off ur face more.

With make-up, put a little foundation on. Just put mascara on ur eyes. and put clear lip gloss on.

this is a good more natural look, which is best.Back to school make-up advice?
ok so keep it simple yeah? leave your hair down, it will look nicest :) wear some foundatioin if it suits you but make sure that its your skin colour and dont wear too much. nothing worse than too much foundation thats orange! eyeliner, id keep it nice and natural, not too much and just wear it on the bottom with some colour on the eyelids, whatever matches your skin and hair colour and clothing. use mascara, black not brown, and curl your eye brows, wear blusher but a nice amount. keep it natural but nice. it will make you look stunning and it will look like you havent done anything to look that amazing! hoppe i helped xx
    Wear some light foundation

a lil blusher just a few dabs on the cheek bones

a pale eyeshadow colour preferably a light brown or skin colour just to make the eye contour appear fresh

a thin line of eyeliner on the top lids of your eyes

use a pencil for the bottom lid

    mascara

use a pale pink on the lips with a gloss over the top

you dont want to look to overdone for school

    goodluck
Whatever it is keep it really simple!

How many people actually remember first day of school at graduation!

    Be yourself.

Wear as little as you think will accentuate your features. Soft looks are better for school.

P.S. this question is impossible not seeing what you look like, just use your own discretion
Black eyeliner and black mascara to make your eyes stand out. =)

Make up advice? for eyes and all of that?

So I just want some make up advice. Like how do I get my eyes to stand out more. My eyes are chocolate brown by the way but some days they turn into a more milky brown. Like how to apply eyeshadow and general tips on makeup to make features stand out more. ThanksMake up advice? for eyes and all of that?
    These Colours Are Good

    Gold

    Brown

    Bronze

    Green

    Yellow

    And Some Other Colours :)

Use Black Liquid Eyeliner On Top And Pencil On Bottom

Curl Eyelashes And Loads Of MascaraMake up advice? for eyes and all of that?
Use a light reddish tan on your lid, then like a dark reddish brown in your crease, then use a gold for below your eyebrow, then use that same gold to do a line underneath your bottom lashes like eyeliner..then use dark brown mascara. Also at the store they have sets of eye shadows and stuff for brown eyes// hope I could help(:
u can use any color eyeshadow...it depends on your skin tone.

if u have lighter skin maybe lavender...mix similar ones

use a black eyeliner more on the bottom and less on the top.

do maybe 2 or 3 coats of mascara

TIP: never buy N.Y.C makeup. it powders up and is horrible....

covergirl is ok....i use avon mascara...and the same eyeliner

and eyeliner pencils r really hard 2 put on

try a soft eyeliner that u don't have to sharpen...but u twist the thing and it comes out....do u know what i mean?

    Lots of Love,

1] wear a simple black suit if you have it - skirt, or pants.

No bellies, cleavage, nipples, butt cracks, micro minis, or puddle pants.

2] a pretty blouse or fitted T [ no screened, character, or juvenile styles ]

3] closed toe heels or flats

at interviews they like minimal makeup.... try a tinted foundation, bronzer or a gel/cream blush..... brown liner, light brown eyeshadow, and brown/black mascara. then apply a rosy lipgloss. good luch at your interview... let me know how it goes!! :o)
    http://obsessmuch.wordpress.com
Nice style to show that ur chic and fashion conscious and classy. For makeup something natural and bare with a LIL glitz - too much makeup can be a turnoff.
u should wear a professial outfit like dress pants and a nice blouse...and heels of course....look like the ladies that are already hired do!! also do ur makeup very well...do not apply loads just to show them that u wear it...wear enough so they can see u no how to wear it and that u wear it...but keep it clean and simple!
As a rule of thumb, dressing in a suit for an interview wouldn't do you any harm. You must be able to capture the tailored look, but in a feminine manner. Double breasted in navy or black, perhaps softened with a scarf rolled under the collar, its a classic which will never be out of style...

  • Make-up advice for a 14 year old plse?! :-)?

I'm 14 years old and want some good make-up advice 4 skool. It needs to be natural but slightly noticeable, cheap but good quality and long lasting. Thanks!Make-up advice for a 14 year old plse?! :-)?
    Always remember, less is more!

Just use a light foundation to give you an even skin tone and preferably something with a built in SPF. Some eyeliner carefully applied, mascara and a little gloss or nude colour on your lips. It's school, not a fashion parade!

Boot's No 7 is probably your best bet.

And don't forget to take it off properly at night before you go to bed - look after your skin.Make-up advice for a 14 year old plse?! :-)?
okay here is my routine... I'm 16

    1. put some kind of lotion on your face so make-up wont dry it out

    2. I use Max factor long lasting performance [cool breeze]

    3. True Blend powder.

    4. Cover girl roll up eyeliner. on top eye lid and bottom.

    5. Full and soft mascara.

    Good luck hun!!!
if you love powder make ups like natural makeups visit this site...

    www.everydayminerals.com

they have free sample kit if you want just pay for the shipping fee $5

they have different colors and very cheap and it looks great!

all made of powder make up!
It all depends on your face and looks, I am 26 yrs old and I don't always do my make up so well, my best friend does my make up and she puts eyeliner on the top and not the bottom because it makes my eyes look huge! It all depends, I would do a little mascara eye shadow and some lip gloss, don't go over board you don't want to look like you are in a beauty pagent when you are at school. Talk to someone older than you, Mom, Aunt or older sister..maybe they can help show you the proper way
took me a while to put on make up the right way. The trick i found is that if you want a natural look. Less makeup is more :D. For my natural look all i do is put a thin line of liquid eyeliner on top (NO BOTTOM!) and curl your lashes and put mascara on. Maybe a little bit of powder foundation. Good luck hun. Makeup can be a pain but really fun :D. Also I forget what brand it is but there is a brand that makes different colors of eyeliner and stuff for the color of eyes you have. For instance. I have brown eyes and they say people with brown eyes should were purple eye stuff so i wear purple eyelinner and shawdow sometimes. . What color of eyes do you have?
That's easy - wear a lil eye liner and some lip gloss that's a few shades darker than your natural lip color. :)
welllll i think you should go for some natural foundation, some blusher, mascara and some eyeliner and some pick lipgloss!!

    you should mibi try avon!

    hope that helps!
wear mascara and a little bit of light brown eye shadow..dont use eye liner it looks trashy if not done right.
I'm 12. I really dont have 'cheap' make up. I use smashbox %26amp; marele norman
Maybelline or use the Avon kind those are usually good too and they have pretty colors.
    #1 must have...MASCARA! :)

Don't apply too much...place the mascara wand at the roots of the upper lashes, then move slightly from side to side whilst also upwards. If you want to, you could apply mascara to the lower lashes, but remember to be SPARING with it! To much on the lower lashes makes you look strange!

I'm 16, and for school I normally wear:

Foundation, Powder, Blusher, Mascara %26amp; Liquid Eyeliner (on the upper lash line). It may sound like a lot, but I tend to stick to natural colours which match my skin tone, and don't use too much.

Never ever ever wear dark foundation...match it to your skin tone - too dark %26amp; you'll be orangggee...which is never a good look. Ever.

    Remember...

    - Apply foundation with a damp foundation sponge. Blend around nose %26amp; around edges of face to prevent getting 'slag lines' :)

    - Apply enough powder, but not too much...it can get cakey

    - Neverrr forget to use mascara...it works wonders :)

    - If you use blusher focus on the apples of the cheeks - which are visible when you smile or when you blushh

    - Use eyelash curlers before or after using mascara to make your eyelashes longer (but be careful with them!)

    Oh...and practice!

The hardest bit is the foundation %26amp; mascara once you get the hang of them, you're sorted :)

    Hope I helpedd xxxx
Hi Mink, Ask your Mom to go to this website with and check out the fyi.arbonne line. It is a product for your age group and just came out last April. They also have an interactive website that you can use to check out different makeup colors. For the catalog go to http://www.wonderful.myarbonne.com For the interactive website go to http://www.fyiarbonne.com

Ask your Mom to go to the first site with you as there is a sale going on right now. Good luck to you.
There i sno need for makeup. If others cannot appreciate you for your natural beatuful self then you should not concern yourself with their closed minded opinions. Be proud of who you are and try not to be who others want you to be because you will never find happiness seeking others approval. True happiness is in appreciating and accepting who you are because you are special without having to put on makeup to make others approve.
Im 14 too and I use N.Y.C make-up brand; its cheap too!

I use foundation to cover blemishes and circles under my eyes. Then eyeliner slightly and some mascara on top lashes only. Then put either vaseline or lip balm on your lips to moisturize them and add some shine.
i wear eyeliner on my top eyelid and two coats of mascara and sometimes eyeshadow, i always get compliments on how nice and natural it looks. btw im 15
Use either eyeliner OR mascara, don't use both 'cause it will look too grown up

Use either a pale/clear lipgloss OR Vaseline, not lipstick
There are a lot of products out there that are relatively cheap and good. It is important to pick out what works for you.

If you're new to make up, and just starting out, I recommend

Maybelline's Great Lash Washable Mascara in Very Black (it has the pink body and the green head, you can buy this at walmart).

Rimmel London's compact bronzer in Sun Dance 027.

A New York Color cover stick in the color which best suits your skin (Light 781, Medium 782 or Natural 783).

And another cover stick from NYC again, this time is green 785.

Then pick your favorite color of blush, in a plum colored perhaps.

    Ok so to start,

    1. Wash your face with a gentle soap or face cleanser (dove soaps are sually good).

    2. moisturize your face with a light moisturizer that has some spf in it preferably.

    3. apply the NYC color stick (no the green one) around your eyes, mouth and the sides of your nose. Apply with the stick first moving your hand in short strokes, then blend it in with your fingers.

    4. Take the green stick and cover any red blemishes your sking may have.

    5. Apply the bronzer with a big brush on spots where the sun would naturally tan your skin: tip of your nose, cheeks (only a little there), and also your chin and forehead.

    6. Then apply the blush on your cheeks with a smaller brush, to make this easier smile and the apples of your cheeks should sort of pop.

    7. Put the mascara on your lashes! to do this best take the mascara brush and stroke in on the bottles opening a few times so there isn't too much on it that will clump up your lashes.

then start at the roots of your lashes and with a zig zag motion come up. (the zig zagging helps to not clump them).

then let that dry for 10 secs and do it again.

do the same with your other eye.

8.put some lib balm on your lips

VOILA! you're done. It will look beautiful but at the same time very natural

a few other tips I can give you are that: eye liner does not look very good especially if you're not good with it. Even if you are good with it, it does not look natural.

Don't overdoo the blush or bronzer.

Make sure you clean up your eyebrows every once in a while.

And don't put mascara on your bottom lashes
Use a sheer eye shadow that matches your skin tone just on the crease of your eyelid and actually lid to highlight your eyes, don't use eyeliner but instead opt for mascara in brown. Then just use a clear lipgloss to make your lips pop. If you are wanting to use foundation/powder opt for a full coverage powder and use just that instead of the foundation/powder together.
k im your age too so i know just what to do.

Stay neutral, don't go all out with crazy colors!

us like light pinks and tans oneyeshadow, and some eyeliner would be good to bring out your eyes. If you aren't too happy with your skin use some cover-up, but make sure you get the right skin-tone! At the end, make sure you use a little lip gloss, shine is everything! :]

Make up and jewelry coordination advice for little fuchsia banded bottom dress?

I have this a cleavage revealing, short fuchsia dress with a banded bottom to wear on my birthday, want to know the colour for the flat sandals, eye shadow, lipstick and jewelry to wear..essentially everything, any advice?Make up and jewelry coordination advice for little fuchsia banded bottom dress?
I think for shoes - you should go with whatever color is the accent color in your dress - or an ivory shoe would work too.

For eye shadow and lipstick - I've read that you should really do one of them up and make the other subtle....I would pick doing the eyes ';up'; and maybe glossy lips.

For jewelry - if it's a cleavage revealing dress - then a y-drop or pendant style necklace would be nice. here are some ideas:

Whats the best make up advice you have?

Like one (or more) tremendous tip!

thxWhats the best make up advice you have?
I don't exactly know what you're looking for an in answer, but, if you're looking for brands.. I say M.A.C. makeup is the best. I love it. It can be a little pricey but it is awesome. If your just looking for general tips on makeup, it kind of depends on your age. You don't want to look like a makeup junkie but you want a perfect, balanced, natural, look. Everyday, I use a little bit of brown eyeliner and brown mascara. (my hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes are brown so I use brown for a natural look.) Somedays, I also use a little bit of a lite eyeshadow just to brighten my eyes. I also use a little bit of blush to add some color to my face. Some light pink lip gloss finishes the job. This amount of makeup is a good balance for someone looking for a more natural look.Whats the best make up advice you have?
use a lip liner because it'll make your lipstick or lip gloss not bleed out.

always set your make up (foundation) with powder.

use a eyeshadow primer before you use eyeshadow because it'll help the eyeshadow last longer and prevent creasing. It really helps if you have oily lids. (good ones are like Urban Decay Primer Potion)

look down at a mirror when applying mascara so it won't catch your skin.

curl your lashes before mascara, it helps your lashes stand out more.

    I hope this helped!
I apply Urban Decay Primer Potion on my bottom lash line before applying eyeliner. It prevents smudging and smearing. I also use in under eyeshadow, and it makes even cheap eyeshadows last all day. This product costs $16.00 and is so worth it.

Apply your liquid foundation with a foundation brush. Doing this has changed my life. I get perfect skin every single day with almost no effort.

The best pressed powder I have ever found -- and I've tried tons of them because I have oily skin -- is Maybelline Dream Matte Pressed Powder. I own more than one and I never leave the house without it.

Drugstore makeup products are as good as or better than many department store products, so if you don't have a lot of money to spend, don't hesitate to hit your local Walgreen's.
to prevent eyeliner from smearing 1st i put da eyeliner on them put a light powder on top of it to dry it out and prevent smearing
    Don't look orange. (Foundation)
less is more don't put so much makeup on that it loots like you spread it with a putty knife

just apply primer before you put makeup on. primer is not the same as lotion and you shouldn't leave your makeup on all night. wash it off with a cleanser or soap using a washcloth to very lightly exfoliate it off. don't aggressively rub your face. this will damage your skin.

Everytime I wear this eyeshadow I get compliments on how well it brings out my blue eyes.

It is an extremely beautiful color!

Some colors that look good with blue eyes:

    Brown

    Gold

    Champagnege

    Blue

Light pinkMake Up Advice: Blue Eyes/Blonde Hair?
For blondes (I am one too) the most important makeup product for us is eyeshadow. For blue eyes, your best colors will be pinks, taupes, navys, greens, greys, and blues - easy on the blue, it can look outdated. But blue-eyed people have the most options when it comes to eyeshadow colors. [Brown eyes-%26gt;purples and taupes...green eyes-%26gt; plums and taupes.]

You didn't mention your skin tone, but whether you should go warm, neutral or cool would depend on the tone of your skin. Being blonde with a golden skin tone, I tend to go neutral and warm most of the time (my eyes are green). But I go smokey eyes most of the time and neutral lips. Looks great!

Hope I was of some help!
You sound like you look like me! Ha-ha!!!

    Here's what i wear:

鈥 little bit of liquid foundation(dark)

    鈥lush (for shine)

    鈥hite/Tan eyeshadow (not very noticeable)

鈥mall amount of eyeliner on top a little more on the bottom than on the top! (brown)

鈥verage amount of mascara (i dunno what average is,you judge that)

    鈥HIMMERY LIPGLOSS (its Poppin)

    GOOD LUCK
well... you should wear light brown eyeliner, it really makes those gorgeous blue eyes pop! Sandy colors for eyeshadow and it works even better when you wear shirts the same color as your eyes. With your hair, try colorful clips or headbands to draw attention to your head. Have fun with it! :)
soft pink or light brown lipstick, so you dont distract from your eyes,

brown glittery eyeshadow with noticeable brown eyeliner,

soft pink blush, to add shine,

try some mascara, but not to much,

    and good luck!

p.s. some medium shade foundation could help
blue eye shadow blake or the same kind of blue eye liner on both top or bottom if not just bottom luqid on topp and cover up and some lipgloss that should do it and very fast(:

I really want some make up. I have NO IDEA where to start and whats esentual. Can someone explain to me what i need and everything? Also i want CHEAP make-up.I want some cheap make-up advice?
okay if you looking for cheap makeup i would say that you stick to the drugstore makeup like walmart rite aid cvs and walgreens. i like to shop at walgreens for products because they always have buy one get one free deals and you can save alot of money on it and plus it gives you a variety of makeup that walmart and other places cant provideI want some cheap make-up advice?
if you want cheaper things don't go to makeup stores. If you live in an area with a claire's or icing get a make-up kit for 10 bucks that comes with eyeshadow, blush, lip gloss, foundation, and other random stuff.

If not it's no big deal. the essentials are

    .eyeliner

    .mascara

.foundation(in my experienses liquid is usually cheaper)

.lip gloss (get a simple color you could use frequently)

wet n' wild is very cheap stuff so you might want to get that.

This was one of my answers to a different question, it might help you combine products so you need to buy less:

--moisturizer%26amp;foundation%26amp;concealer- there really isn't any substitute that i know of but you get a tinted mosteriser that combines all three into one product. (Cover Girl CG Smoothers SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer)

--Blush%26amp;eyeshadow- you could easily interchange these products. if you buy an eyeshadow kit it's again two products in one and you can get them at cheap stores like claire's and icing.

--Eyeliner%26amp;mascara%26amp;brow coloring- just get eyeliner. if you put the eyeliner into the lash line it looks better than using mascara and if you buy a brownish color than you could use it for brow coloring too

--lipliner%26amp;balm%26amp;stick%26amp;gloss- you don't really need liner but if you want it you an use it as lipstick and just color your lips. you can get lipgloss that stays on and use it instead of lipstick. Or just get lipstick and use vaseline as the glossy stuff, and the balm. also chapsstick comes in colors now too so thats balm, color, and is glossy.
dont bother about foundation unless your spotty bcause if you already have decent skin it just makes you spottier. Go for a cheap mascara, they all work the same really, you should also get a eye liner but get a 拢2.50 one(im not sure how much that is if your in america) because cheap ones dont come out all that clear, dont bother about lipgloss it looks cheesy. i'd get a glam crystals glitter(i dont know if they sell them in America) they are really nice but if your just starting with basics then dont get any eye shadow, you wont need it really.
You'll need mositurizer for your skin, you should get one with an SPF. Apply that under your foundation and let it sink in for a few minutes. There's not really any good working makeup that's cheap, just go to your local drugstore. Some brands are pretty cheap like Wet N Wild and NYC. What you'll need for your face is liquid foundation, face powder and concealer. For your eyes you'll probably just want to start out with eyeliner and mascara. If you want go for the eyeshadow too. For your lips just have a chapstick underneath whatever Iipgloss you use.

Liquid foundation - You could use Covergirl clean makeup. It's pretty cheap.

Face powder - I've heard good things about the NYC mosaiac wheel.

Concealer - I have the Wet N Wild concealer and it works great.

    Eyeliner - NYC waterproof eyeliner, I think it's 3.99?

Mascara - Great lash, it's pretty cheap.
Look for a make- up tutorial on a ''neutral make-up look'' on YOUTUBE!!

U need foundation (u can get liquid, powder or mousse)

Blusher (baby pink is nice as opposed to red which looks unnatural)

Macara (if u dont have curly eye lashes u can get curling mascara)

Foundation: is like a base it makes ur skin look perfect and covers spots and blemishes.

Blusher: adds colour to ur cheeks makes u look healthy/rosy etc.

Mascara: opens up ur eyes makes them look bigger and makes u look prettier.
go to the drugstore and get some makeup. its going to be around 5 dollars for the makeup that actually works. read the labels though and try to get light weight formulas...if you don't some makeup can clog pores and give you acne.the basic makeup supplies you should buy would be tinted moisturizer, eye shadow that's right for your color eyes, mascara, lip gloss, blush, and eye liner.
If you want to go light, just buy pressed powder, a neutral eyeshadow quad, blush, and nude lipstick.

Don't get things that cost too little, since they might not work at all.

    Here is some good brands:

    Blush-(Soft Suede)http://www.walgreens.com/store/pickcolor鈥?/a>

    Pressed Powder-http://www.walgreens.com/store/pickcolor鈥?/a>

    Lipstick -(Airy Fairy)http://www.walgreens.com/store/pickcolor鈥?/a>
Tinted moisturiser/foundation- matched to your own skin tone

Pressed Powder- matched to your own skin tone

Concealer- matched to your own skin tone

Mascara- black(if you have dark hair) or brown(if you have light hair)

Eyeliner- brown always, black is too harsh

Lipbalm or lipgloss- any colour you like, usually clear or light pink goes with everything
there are a lot of beauty gurus in youtube. most of them will tell you what a girl must have in her beauty kits. :)

mine has, mineral make up, waterproof mascara, blush, eyelash curler, lipcare that has a red tint, neutral color eye shadows, eyebrow pencil and lots of brushes.
ELF is only one dollar and it works really good also NYC is good but if you really think about it if you buy something that cost a little more you will be more happy with he results also in the long run its cheaper b/c it lasts alot longer

    Ive never used make up.

I was wondering if i should start wearing it?

Tips; thanks :)Make-up! advice; should i start wearing it?
you're really pretty, you don't even need it! :)Make-up! advice; should i start wearing it?
Can I just say, you have fabulous hair!

I think your face has great bone structure and would make the perfect canvas for some great makeup. For now, I think you should start small so you dont look completely different. You have great skin, so I dont think you need to start wearing foundation yet, maybe start off with a tinted moisturizer if you need to cover any redness or splotchy spots. I think that if you would like to start wearing makeup, start with a fresh, peach tone blush that will compliment your skin color (I would try NARS blush in Deep Throat) and a great thickening mascara for your upper lashes. This will give you a freshed face look without having to cake a lot of makeup on your face.

    Good luck!
you're gorgeous :) you don't need it all that much...a little foundation/concealer would help your skin's appearance and mascara would bring out your eyes :D that's all you really need. if you want you can go all out with eyeliner, etc. but you're so pretty in the first place, lol.
your already really cute so if you do want to use make up you won't need allot start with a little eye shadow some mascara and a little lip gloss that will be all you really need you skin is good so you don't need and foundation just keep it simple!
    yes definitely :)

you have great features for makeup!

put some foundation.. your skin will look SUPER flawless (cuz its already flawless now) with nice smokey eyes

..or bright red lips (ur lips are plump)

    some blush

    DEFINITELY! wearsome
    you really don't need makeup!

but you would really good with eyeliner

a thin line on the inner rim- covergirl; perfect point plus

maybe some mascara try maybelline colossal

and a concealer or light face powder

    just try neutral colors.

    but youre really pretty!
You have really pretty hair, (:

    And I think like

    eyeliner or mascara

    and lipgloss should be good.

    Not too much, (:

    p/s; You're cuute .
I would say if you wear any, make it natrual looking. You could wear gold eye shadow and liner. rosey cheeks and maybe glossy lips and that's all... you don't need much of any of that either

    Lighty
Go ahead and do foundation some mascara only on the top lashes and a thin layer of liquid eyeliner on the top of your lashline on your eyelid and you should be good :)
I think mascara %26amp; lipgloss is enough

    makeup ruins your skin!

    i wish i never started wearing i t

%26amp; by the way your very pretty!:D
Start light. Maybe some brown eye shadows and gloss. A little blush if you want or maybe a little eyeliner.
I think eyeliner and mascara would make you look prettier :)
you should put make up and eyeliner(: you have a great smile so gloss or anything like that would be good
    eye make up,

but your pretty just the way you are ;)
maybe some mascara/eyeliner? you dont really need it!! you have amazinggg hair by the way : ) its so pretty!

i have red hair [not like RED red, like auburn], super pale [not pasty] skin, and eyes that change colour from green to blue to grey. right now they're staying green for a couple of months, and they're normally grey or blue.

i need some makeup advice for my (new) eyecolour.

http://www.fxtailor.dk/makeup/makeup_002鈥?/a>I have green eyes, red hair, and pale skin- make up advice please?
Hey! You sound gorgeous as you are, but for make up I would go for subtle shades of gold, green and brown, for a subtle, natural look.

For a more obvious look, like for a party of something different, you could go for soft pink shades on your eyes and lips. This can be risky as it has to be the right shade of pink, but baby pinks are safer.

Blushers should be avoided, but if you want a little colour in your cheeks, use a browny pink sparingly. it just needs to be a hint, not a bright line!

My friend is a redhead, and she wears a gorgeous shimmery green on her eyes. it is very subtle and brings out the colour in her eyes rather than detracting from them.

Mascara could be black or brown, again it depends on how dramatic you want to look. Brown darkens red eyelashes nicely, and is less obvious than a black.

Eyeliners could be brown or black too, but black should be used sparingly, with a very thin line on the lower lid only.

Good luck with your mischevious eye colour!

    Hope I've helped!
Forget the makeup. You sound nice has you are.
Since its summer I would go for the nataural look.

I've just got some new make up and like you I am a red head and I believe our hair makes a loud enough statement alone so go for subtle tones.

Forget foundation as it always looks too much for every day. But if you must wear it. I do on a date or evening/night out the best foundation I have come across are

    Boots No7 Intelligent Colour Foundation

Boots 17 Perfect Match True To Skin Foundation

These are both nataural looking and balance out any imperfections rather than look like you have plastered them on.

Like I said I have opted out of foundation during the day and I use a peachy blusher on my face rather than foundation and when I wear foundation I use my blisher in a pinker tone.

I find a peach blusher gives my pale skin a kind of an effortless glow.

My eyeshadow of the moment is Revlon ColorStay Eyeshadow Quads These are in real nice natural colours and feel nice on the eyes. they cost 拢7.99. Like I said I am using the nude/beige colours in the day and the Pink/Peachy/Lilac tones in the evening.

My day time lipstick is a barely there Revlon ColorStay Soft %26amp; Smooth Lipstick Number 200 and my evening is a Max factor Max Factor Lipfinity I have about 4 different ones and I like a deep striking colour.

My mascara is Max Factor Masterpiece Mascara or Max Factor Masterpiece MAX Mascara as this really does make the lashes look long thick and clump free. The regular masterpiece in the day i wear in Brown and the Max is my night out one and I use it in Black

So those are my recomendations and Like you I have eyes that alter mine are on the bright blue at the monent.

So I would say pay Boots a Visit. There is a free Nail Polish offer on with Revlon. 3 for 2 on No 7 and a gift set when you spend over 拢15 on Max Factor.

    Hope this helps.

    Go knock em dead girl.
I would go with pale natural tones which should highlight your features. Maybe try something like Go Gel Eye Liner from http://www.wishcosmetics.co.uk/acatalog/鈥?/a>
I have the same problem. I have a light color red hair with pale skin but my eyes are deep deep blue to grey... Here are some web sites below i think you might be interested in. When I want to try something new I google make up tips for red heads... I always find something new! Good luck to ya!
    Were the same!
Perhaps you could try gold eye shadow, it would suit your colouring perfectly. However if you go strong on the eyes tone down the rest of your face with a light flush colour on the cheeks and a nice light gloss on the lips, I would say a glossy peach shade. Try experimenting with make up at home, you will soon find out what suits you by trial and error.
If you want something that looks good with your skin tone and everything then heres a link....it may not work for you if you like more natural looks but if you want something that looks pretty good then try this. Or go to the mall and try to go to the mac counter but if you dont have one go to any (mac is great though!) and have them give you a makeover that suits you but looks good to. they are pros. good luck! heres the link: http://www.drugstore.com/templates/brows鈥?/a>

    hope i helped! good luck!
I don't know but red hair and green eyes sounds really attractive
none you sound very attractive..ps i am straight female
Laura Mercier (top make up artist to the stars says:

Try: shadows in peach, light pink, muted pink, mauve, green, bronze-green, grey-green, brown-green, khaki, caramel, gold, any green mixed with gold and all browns and greys. User liner in navy, deep purple, black, grey, gold or brown.

Avoid: Don't use any green thats not subtle, they will overwhelm your eye colour
I didn't read anything anyone else said, doesn't matter anyway. Gorgeous features, just use make up to accent your natural highlights; in fact, less is more.

And I'm hetereo horn dog that just loves women.
It sounds like you have wonderful features. If I were you, I would definatly try simple brozer, curl my lashes, no mascara, blush, and a simple, slightly tinted lip balm. If you need extra help applying or something, try this:

~Make sure skin is smooth and even. If not, use a little powder.

~ Sweep light brozer onto eyelids, bridge of nose, cheekbones and around jaw and hairline.

    ~Curl eyelashes with eyelash curler

~ Gently put one dot of blush onto apples of cheeks and blend.

~Apply tinted lipbalm to lips for light shine and color

    I recommend:

    ~L'oreal True Match Powder (9$)

~Cover Girl Bronzer in Golden tan (4$)

    ~Maybelline Eyelash Curler (4$)

~Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush 40 in Soft Plum (5$)

~Neutrogena Moisture Moistureshine Tinted Lip Balm, Fresh 70 (7$)

You'll look great, I'm sure! Take out anything you feel you don't need, or you can subsitute. Good luck!

Hair and make-up advice for a wedding?

Can I just wear my hair and make-up like I normally do or should I do it differently? Usually I straighten my hair and wear foundation and maybe some eyeliner... is that too plain? It's not like I'm the one getting married, so does it really matter what I look like?

I'm asking because I have no idea how to do hair or make-up.Hair and make-up advice for a wedding?
Okay I read somewhere in a fashion magazine that you should wear your hair to your wedding like you usually do. If you wear it up usually, do an updo..if you wear it down, wear it down. Make-up..you would have to make sure it's enough to stay on for a long period of time and dark enough for pictures. But, not too dark..you don't want to look like a hooker. Best advice for make-up go to a professional.Hair and make-up advice for a wedding?
More extravagant. If you're single there's always a chance there will be other singles there and it shows your respect for the person getting married and your readiness to try hard to look good on their special day. I don't say it matters what you look like it's just a sign of respect as I said. : )
okay, i say what u normally do is fine, go ahead and do that. but then just add some light pink sparkly eye shadow and a light lip gloss or lipstick and ur good to go :)
you should do what you normally wear everyday . add a little style to it . you should like straighten your hair down and make the top part a pompadour . i hope this helps :]

Ladies I need make up advice? Ive been applying my make up the same style ....?

since I was 15 which is : Fair powder... Heavy black eyeliner on the my top eyelid (green eyes) heavy black mascara.. pencil in my eyebrows a bit and rosey or red lips. Im 32 and I need a change. My eyes show a little bit of age so my black eyeliner doesnt look as cool.. you know.. so ... Im ready to grow up.. What can do? Should I change or stay the same? What would you do?Ladies I need make up advice? Ive been applying my make up the same style ....?
I have green eyes as well. One thing that makes my eyes stand out is purple, lavender, or grey eyeshadow/eyeliner.

I use a pearl/white liquid shimmer eyeshadow, made by Sephora, all over my lids, up to the browline. In the crease, I add my purple. Then, towards the outer corner of my eye, I'll add a dark purple, or gray, and smudge it in to give it a smokey look. For eyeliner, I use pretty much use black, gray, or purple, but i tend to always use liquid. For mascara, use a purple mascara. It sounds weird, but it really makes green eyes look beautiful.Ladies I need make up advice? Ive been applying my make up the same style ....?
use brown instead of black eyeliner.

and maybe use some purples or pinks for the shadow.

black eyeliner makes your eyes look smaller..and really harsh. and applying shadow to the bottom of your eye doesn't hurt either鈾?br>

    good luck.
Try a deep plum eyeshadow or kohl and line your eyes with that [smokey and smudgey! no rigid lines] then apply a fair amount of mascara and then some black eyeliner in the inside of your eye [www.mkartists.com] Stila has some great plum e/s as well as urbandecay and MAC duh oh and DIOR

For Cheeks: try a soft bronzer like the one from physicians formula that doesn't contain TALC but use it with your own brush as the one they have with it sucks [www.physiciansformula.com]

For Lips: try a neude pink with goldens himmer on your lips try: Stila's Lip Glaze in Apricot :http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a> oh and try a nude lip liner like this one:http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a> in neutral 115
get rid of the eyeliner, use mascara or fake eyelashes.. i like the false eyelashes because mascara just doesnt apply right.. then use eye shadow either green purple or shades of brown those accent your eyes the best and some blush on the cheek bone. and whatever lipstick/gloss you want just not a bright color
Use brown eyeliner %26amp; mascara, do not attempt bright red lipstick unless special occasion wearing hot red dress, mostly experiment with different looks dont be afraid of them because they are not what you normally do

Make up advice ? how to like curl my eyelashes?

i know how to curl them its just i cant curl them cuhs my eye lashesh are too think and i look super cku hte with curly eyelashesh well i imagined. and my eyelashesh are super long and think and uncurable ): it sucks i wish i can! do you know what kind of eye curl thingy should i use? and why does it wont let me curl it but my sister can? o_OMake up advice ? how to like curl my eyelashes?
First of all, you have to make sure that your lashes are oil-free.

No matter how hard you curl your lashes if they have oils on them, it will be all for nothing.

Ton make sure that they are oil free, wipe your lashes with an eye makeup remover. Then curl your lashes either by using a heated lash curler or by using a clear mascara to act as a base.

    So, how does it go?

    -Heated Lash Curler-

You can buy a heated lash curler (like Panasonic Heated Pad-Style Eyelash Curler or the Blinc Heated Eyelash Curler...or etc) or just put some heat on your classic lash curler. Heat it up using a blow dryer, not so hot that it would scald your lids, but just a little heat so that it would make your lashes really curl. It kinda works like hair curlers..

    -Clear Mascara as Base-

If you don't have a heated lash curler or a blow dryer, don't fret! You can still achieve a curled lash by using a clear mascara %26amp; your lash curler. Curl your lashes first (making sure that they are oil-free), then apply a clear mascara. Wait for a minute or two to let it dry a bit, then curl it again. Think of it as a gel, kind of like a hair gel. it holds the curls better compare to just curling it without anything at all.

Then try to use a waterproof mascara. Waterproof Mascara's got waxes on it so it can hold the curls better compare to the classic mascaras which are mostly water-based. I swear by Covergirl's Lash Blast Waterproof. It really holds the curls...all day long!

    ^_^

Goodluck in achieving curled lashes!Make up advice ? how to like curl my eyelashes?
I just use a plain metal curler, with the rubber thingy on the end of it.

If you don't know HOW to curl it, then theres probably some tutorials or whatever on youtube, but i just make sure my lashes are completely clean and free of makeup, then i clamp the curler down near my eyelid for 30 seconds (i make sure i watch the clock)

The amount of time you leave it depends on your lashes; i found out by trial and error.

So once i've curled my lashes, i add mascara to them to keep the curl longer. And walla, curly eyelashes.

    Hope this helps you :)
i use the shu uemera (spelling?) eyelash curler (i love it). i put it up to my lashes, bounce it instead of holding it. sometimes i warm it up with a blow dryer (be VERY CAREFUL NOT TO MAKE IT TOO HOT!) and then curl since it curls more easily. then i put mascara on (**afterwards** not before curling)- i just tried out the new bare minerals BUXOM MASCARA-- omg i LOVE ITTT!! i'm admittedly a huge bare minerals fan =) the mascara plumps your lashes and makes them big and full.
You get your eye lash burler (buy a Revlon one at WAL-MART for like, $6). Then, you open it and place it a little bit after your lash line and hold for about 8 sec. Then, you go to the middle of your lashes and hold for 3 secs. Then, you place at the very tip of lashes and hold for 1 sec. And vuala! Your eye lashes are curled! :)

    answer mine?

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
you're not supposed to do this but i do it because it works best for me.

so i put my mascara on, then wait about 15 min for it to completely dry, and then curl them.

    they are curly all day!
lash curler.. and dont say like like that .. its annoying..
Try heating your eyelash curler with your hairdryer for a few seconds (careful not to burn your eyelids). Should help a lot, mine are stubborn and this makes mine curl.

    Good luck!
Heat up your eye lash curlers with your blow dryer :]

but let them cool down a bit before you put them on your eye otherwise it will burn, ouchies !

then put on some mascara and voila xoxo
okay sooo after you put mascara on rub vasaline on the tips of your fingers and apply it to your kashes then curl with a eyelash curler....it works for me
i have extremely long thick eyelashes too! any eyelash curler works for me
use a spoon it works awesome!

If you get cracked lips and when you put on lipstick all you need to do is well first this is what ull need :

    Vasilene

    Toothbrush

    Water

    1. Put vasilene on your lips and keep it there for 3 mins.

    2. Then after 3 mins have past get a toothbrush and wet it.

3.Then start to BRUSH your lips with the wet toothbrush

    4. After you brush yoiur lips they will feel weird (dont worry)

wipe your lips and aply lip stick!
    what doo yoo mean ?
keep ur make up simple and natural. use the make up to ENHANCE ur beauty not 2 beautify u.

1 use a make up b4 applying foudation. ur daily mosturiser will do as long as its not too oily.

2 when applying liquid foundation, use triangular or square sponge. this ensures even distribution and good natural finish, not too much not too little

3 when applying mascara, apply the 1st coat, let it dry, comb it out with an empty clean brush, then apply the 2nd coat. this makes it look volumed without clumping or looking fake

4 never sleep with ur make up on no matter how little u have applied.

5 b gentle when removing make up especially around the eyes.

6 after removing water-proof mascara, make sure u comb out ur lashes with an empty mascara brush dipped in the remover to remove any remaining mascara that is logged between ur lashes

7 when emoving the makeup dont 4get the lips. remove the lipstick and apply lipbalm to mosturise

I'd luv to get make-up advice at the mall.?

i'm taking female hormones and will soon be a girl. how are the girls at the major department stores who give make-up advice. if i tell them do you think they'll be ok with me. or should i not tell them. thanks alot for any advice.I'd luv to get make-up advice at the mall.?
Their job is to SELL makeup, so they are good at it. They will do your makeup for you, using their products, and show you how to apply, etc..assuming you will buy some. They don't go through the whole thing just to have you not buy anything. But they are helpful if you are willing to spend a little $$. DEFINETLY go with department store makeup tho, NOT the cheap walmart junk.I'd luv to get make-up advice at the mall.?
Don't go to the stores...you have unique facial structure, and typical application won't work for you. Go out to the gay bar and find the best looking queen. Tell them, they are always willing to brag about their ';secrets'; Trust me.
if you like to go and ask them since your just getting older make-up is nice i approve that but don't trust any cheap or anything not suggested by the sales Lady cause you might know if your face could look awful

I am 13 years old and i have started wearing make up 2 skool a few months ago. I usually just wear eyeliner, mascara and powder. Is there any thing else i could use to be a bit different? well i think your are pretty, but try not to use liqued foundation. bad bad bad, makes skin look fake. umm do you put ur eyeline on ur bottem eye over the eyelash line or under? if over, DONT DO THAT!! it make people look trashy, and eyes small. yeh some people look fine with it, but most dont.try a clear lipgloss. or maybe a nice lip balm. and also trim the eyebrows. they can make or break a face. so i would pluck them a bt. my eyebrows used to be reeeel think and bushy, and i plucked them, and my eyes looked bigger, my face looked thinner, and my face looked brighter:) well i hope you have fun with your make-up stuff:)Make up advice for a 13 year old (pics included)?
The first Maybelline site tells you what colors of eye shadow to wear.

The second one is for lip gloss in the colors you should wear based on your skin tone and eye color.

There is a video that shows one way to apply eye makeup.
Since you're 13, I would suggest that 'less is more'. You have really nice skin, kind of translucent. I do not think you need more than what you have already said. An eye liner and an eye pencil, with a mascara should be enough. Avoid black mascara though, it gives a harsh look to your eyes. For the lips, just go with a light colored lipstick or gloss..And you're good to go!
Heyy im 13 and I diffidently think you should incorporate more color into your makeup. It will make your face look brighter and happier. :] AVON is the best place to get makeup...you can pick your own colors and it is pretty cheap! Hope I helped! :]
Umm...If you're only 13, those three things should be good for now. Remember you can always change up the colors of the mascara and eyeliner. I think cuz you have dark eyes, amethyst eyeliner would look really pretty :)
    maybe some coloured eye shadow?

    or lipgloss?

    or some blusher?

just experiement with make up..... so you know what suits you..

dont be afraid to test any colours and stuff...

oh and maybe you could do something with your hair?

    like curl it maybe? x
I think you could use a little more color on your lips. There is some lip balm, like moisturizer for the lips, that has a little color in it, not too much, but just to make your lips stand out a bit more.
we'll u dont need much more cuz you've got natural beauty. :D

but u should definitely wear a light eyeshadow and some eyeliner with

a light blush and some lipgloss.
I don't mean this harshly, but I would suggest you get your eyebrows plucked.
i think u are fine the way u are...n ur too young for make up...u dont need any honey...

I need hair and make-up advice.?

I recently changed my hair from really long too short. My hair is now a little below my shoulders.. How should I style my hair?

Also, what type of make-up should I use?? Is tinted mosturizer with spf 15 good to use? I use that then put a tiny bit of bronzer on top because i pale. But what color eye shadows should I use and what brands are good? I have alot of eyeshadows, but alot of them barely show up. Should I use creme eyeshadows or regular ones? And what kind of blush is good? Creme? Gel? Powdered?? And what shade of eye makeup should I use if I have light brown hair, hazel eyes, and pale skin?I need hair and make-up advice.?
    I have dark brown, shoulder length hair. My eyes are also hazel and what eye do for my eyes is the ';smokey look';

http://youtube.com/watch?v=pWIk5c7jRuw. I even use the dark colors..It looks GREAT. If the site doesnt work, under youtube.com typer in ';smokey eyes';.It the Beau one.Tinted mosturizer works good, especially if you dont like foundation. Any brand works, it doesnt matter. For my hair, I straighten it inwards. I have side bangs so it looks even better because it lines my face..KInda like this http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/im鈥?/a> looks greatI need hair and make-up advice.?

whyxhello, the solution to your problem is simple - aularale.com/7002. Aularale Cosmetics has make up to enhance YOU. It's water based so as not to clog your pores and let's your skin breathe. Choose a shade very close to your own to obtain a natural, enhanced look.

Don't skip your skin care! This is number 1 and would be based on your skin type (normal/dry or oily) Proper cleansing of your face before using moisturizer is very important.

The shadows, blush, and liners are a matter of preference and what you can best work to obtain your best look. Play around with combos - coordinate just like your clothing - have fun. Colors - I usually wear what best accents the clothing I'm wearing -like an accessory. With my oily skin, I prefer powder shadows and blush.
i know how u feel about makeup. i have dark brown hair, but pale skin and blue eyes.i would go with bronzes and brown for a more natural look on your eyes. i would use powder blush because gel blush can dry really fast and it's hard to take it off without having to use makeup remover.
    just go to a styleist
My hair is about your length and I like wearing it down in layers or up in a high, cute ponytail with wisps of hair down around my face. I like making my own tinted moisturizer with a mixture of lotion and a foundation two shades darker than my skin, 1 foundation to 2 lotion. I like using cream eyeshadows because powder eyeshadows always seem to melt off into the creases throughout the day. A trick for cream eyeshadows is to graze some translucent powder over the eyelid prior to applying the shadow. For hazel eyes, try a light blues, shimmery white, silvers/grays, or greens. Try not to use browns or golds. They won't make your eyes ';pop';. Try using a brown eyeliner and smooshing some charcoal eyeshadow powder into the lash line to create a smoky effect. Also, to accentuate a glow on your face, buy a skin shimmer (the Ashley/MaryKate Olsen brand at Wal-mart is the best for your money!) and use a little under your eyebrows, at the tear ducts on the inside of your eyes, and right in the center of your upper lip. These are specific places light will reflect off the shimmery makeup giving you that glow.
