Make-up advice for a 12 year-old?

Just out of curiosity....why do people find the need to ';start'; wearing make-up. I mean like I know about aging but what about eye make-up and all that.

I don't understand it!!Make-up advice for a 12 year-old?
they dont have to wear make up

its just one of the things that makes you feel good because you feel prettyMake-up advice for a 12 year-old?
Well, I think 12 or 13 is as good a time to start as any. You need to start practice sometime or you'll never get any skill, in any case.

When you're doing you make-up for the first time, the first thing to remember is not to overdo it. For a first-timer, the biggest mistake is usually to slap it on there like it's paint.

Use paler colors than you think you need. Don't go for the striking reds in the blush and lipstick, but instead aim for more natural pink tones. If you're twelve, you have a young face and you don't need too much enhancement.

For eye make-up, I recommend starting out with a neutral color, not something like green or orange. Use a bronze or dark color instead of a rainbow-hue. And, once again, less is more! In fact, maybe even avoid color all together and go for shimmer.

The best route for learning would be to ask an older sister or a mom to help you out. They have the experience and can help you make these sorts of crucial decisions! :D

Hope that helped.
I don't think you're too young to start - I started wearing soft make-up at 11. I suggest a powder foundation, easy to apply; a light brown/grey eye shadow, pretty but not too heavy; a pale lip gloss, not too dark as that looks too grown-up; and a little mascara, but not too much - you don't want to get the spider's-legs effect. Just try to make it look natural. I understand why you want to wear make-up, gives me more confidence.

Good luck! - just have a little experiment.
Since you are so young you naturally will have a fresh glow %26amp; having that you would want to keep that essence I would recommend a mineral based powder foundation. These days there are so many on the market since you are young I will suggest an affordable such as revlon mineral powder then a natual glow type blush maybe maybeline applied only with a big powder brush not the little cheapy it comes with. For lip I would use a natural tone lip liner or pinks if you want to have more of an exposed pout followed up with your favorite lipgloss if you want that lip glass look try sally hansen lip glass or lip plumpers for a pouty pout I would steer clear from eyeliners at this time but eventually as you get older you need to learn how to correctly apply liquid eyeliner. Keep you brows neat and shaped wax once a month atleast and try to pluck in between to maintaine that fresh groomed look. FYI don't go fot the skinny eyebrow look that is not attractive you want a natural look just manicure neat look with your own natural shape. Learn how to use a eyelash curler and apply mascara I had had much luck with Loreal double lash. Eyeshadows I would try a trio in natural browns skin tone shades I would get one day set and one night set (darker) physicans has soon great sets %26amp; the wonderful thing is that they are both wet and dry apply lighter tone at brown bone and med shade in the middle darker shade along lash line and crease of eye. Get a eyebrow pencil and lighty color your brow shape and fill in if needed it enhanced prominance %26amp; draws attention to beatiful brow and eyes. I hope this was useful just have fun %26amp; Remember always remove make up before bed

2 seconds ago - Edit -
I am also 12 and I wear makeup b/c it just accents your already there features(:

If you have undertones, try staying away from blush-- It doesn't blend in and besides, you have your all-natural color right there(:

About eyeshadow, it really depends on your hair and eyes. So here are some examples for each features.

Dark Red hair and brown eyes- Any shade of green depending on your skin color; the darker the skin, the lighter the color Dark, Earthy browns and neutrals look really pretty.

All red hair- A dark earthy brown with possibly some brown eyeliner or mascara.

Brown hair Brown Eyes- Pale colors- Orange brightens the face (including shirts) while pale purples and blues give you a more colorful, dramatic look though ANY blue looks good with these features. If you want to use purple, use a silver or gray liner. For blues, use a black liner or mascara. To make brown eyes POP use a very light goldish-tan color from under the brow to the crease and at the crease a light brown liner then under the crease use some light purple shadow and then brown liner ONLY at the top lid and if you want, put some black mascara (I find that complimenting also). Now I am more focused (b/c these are my features) I wear a dark gold shadow and on the inside of the eye some black eyeliner (it may hurt first time putting it on but it's worth it:P. Also I wear a cheap NYC Pink Kiss lipgloss which is like a neon pink usually but now just lip balm b/c aside from being cheap, it's old soo I need a new one:P. And for mascara I use a volumizing black mascara and wear it only on the top while eyeliner only on the bottom b/c I have kinda droopy eyes, lol.

Blond hair brown eyes- While is you you have dark blond (dirty blond/light brown) hair and green or brown eyes, a dark tan or dark green (like the Croc. Hunter). Just neutrals look really good like dark earhty colors and and clear gloss. Try brown liner and/or mascara

Blond hair blue eyes: Dark purples, shimmery silvers, and smokey eye effect. Also, same as blond and brown eyes. Black eyeliner in the eye at the bottom and VOLUMIZED big lashes look really good

Well, I guess this is it. Hope this helps and try to wear is kinda light or not over-do it like a cat-eye or anything:P
because it makes u look older. not lyk 20 yr old but lyk 14 or 15 heaps of people do it at high school to fit in or be ';popular';

you don't have to wear it underneath all the makeup and whatever else you still have to be happy with who you are as a person. and thats the only thing that is inportant at the end of the dayy
Okay, to get you started, here is makeup ';lingo';

Brushes, brushes are essential if you want to know makeup and apply it evenly. For sizing and thickness information go to http://www.beauty-and-makeup-tips.com/be鈥?/a> and just keep scrolling down.

Pigment, a really bright color or loose powdered makeup.

Eyeshadow, very easy concept once getting the hang of it. It all reflects around price, brand and color.

Swatches, either on hand or finger to preview a color.

I hope I helped :)
Don't put too much on,,

Bobbi Brown has a book out that I got for last christmas

She tells you everything you need to know,,

:)

Also DONT TURN ORANGE !! when you put on your foundation %26amp; BEWARE OF gravy lines ! the line when your skin tone %26amp; the tone of your foundation collide :)

X
Gives me more confidence and makes me feel better about how i look and im 14, most girls in my year do.. you're a bit young but my younger sister who is also 12 wears it cos she has really bad skin.. x
It is right around when puberty hits and when young girls start feeling the pressures society put's on them to be beautiful and unrealistically perfect.
well people usually wear it to make them feel better. cover their flaws. i use make-up. im 14, i use foundation, blush, eye liner %26amp; mascara. (:
Ok, I am a 12 year old an right now people wear a bit of lipgloss, but in 10th grade people will probably start to wear makeup.
When they feel they need it.

You shouldn't worry about makeup at 12 years old.

Wait till you are 13 or 14 - even better.

Remember makeup is to bring out your features, not change them.
it makes people better about themselves, have more confidence and makes feel more atractive.
'make up'

make themselves up more prettier;

duh.
Just remember that less is more.
just dont wear make up then ...

im 18 and i dont wear make up ;)
Just copy your mom... But I wouldn't if I were you
just dont
