Make-up advice?

My prom dress is canary yellow and i need a make-up technique. Any advice?Make-up advice?
i say you wear a gold/brown eye shawdow, with a bronzer and bronze lip gloss. it wil look really nice with the yellow dress.Make-up advice?
Oooh yay! Hmm, well I have a few suggestions for you:

1. Start with a clean, toned (yes!), and freshly moisturized face. After your skin has absorbed the moisturizer, try a primer to keep your makeup in place and looking vibrant throughout the night. My recommendation is to look for something from Smashbox; they have a wide range of foundation primers, and I'm sure you can find one that best works to your needs. In addition to ensuring your makeup stays in place, it also works with you to give a light airbrushed effect in photographs and such, so try one! I own Photo Finish Foundation Primer Light (it's a clear primer; don't let the name mislead you- ';light'; simply means it's better used by people with oily acne-prone skin).

2. Go with a beautiful foundation for the evening that brings out your glow- Stila Illuminating Foundations are wonderful and not overly glittery. If you prefer a matte look, go with Make Up For Ever matte velvet+ formula. Or for a natural look, I find Lancome and Estee Lauder foundations are the best. Depending on how your skin reacts to MAC foundations (which are really good too, but I found that I broke out immediately after wearing them), you may want to try these too.

3. Cover your imperfections with a concealer BEFORE you apply your foundation IF your foundation is ';glowy';; also, apply it slightly thicker so it doesn't rub off entirely when you apply your foundation on top. Otherwise the areas where you applied your concealer will stand out as matte on an otherwise glowy surface. If you are using a matte or natural foundation, then apply concealer AFTERwards in order to avoid rubbing it off beforehand.

4. Highlight areas of your face to bring them out better: top of cheekbone, directly on browbone, bridge of your nose, and temples (closer to your brows) are good areas to highlight. A good product to consider is BeneFit HighBeam or MoonBeam; both look extremely natural, but MoonBeam seems more appropriate for day than night. Try them both and see which one you like best.

5. Contour your face: the sides of your nose, temples (directly above your highlight), hollows of your cheeks, and jawline are good areas to contour. This will give your face the appearance of being slimmer. Some good products to check out are: MAC Accentuate/Sculpt Duo, NARS Lovejoy/Zen/Laguna depending on what your skintone is and which one blends best in your skin while giving the maximum impact.

6. Blush- this you will have to pick depending on your coloring. I think with the dress though, something towards peachish/light orange tones would look good; a light rose flush would look good too.

7. Here are some products that would really make your eyes stand out with the dress:

-Black eyeliner- Stila convertible eye colors, kajal pencils, or smudge pots are excellent choices to consider depending on whatever look you are trying to achieve; my personal recommendation would be the smudge pots as they are soft and can give varied looks. Do a subtle cut eye on your top lid by winging out the liner, and tightline your lower lash line.

-MAC All That Glitters is a beautiful champagne color that will work with your gorgeous dress; apply this on the lid and blend with a darker cocoa brown or orange-bronze shade like Urban Decay Jones/Twice Baked. Another personal favorite of mine that is a frosty light champagne (that you could apply towards the inner corners of your eyes and blend under All That Glitters) is Stila Kitten.Forego black or gray shades on the eyes; you don't want to look like a bumblebee- you want to work with softer shades like champagne, bronze, and oranges with a bright beautiful dress.

-Highlight your browbone with MAC Shroom eyeshadow.

-Apply one-two layers of mascara on your upper lashes concentrating on the outer lashes most; MAC ZoomLash is a personal favorite. Apply a softer mascara on your lower lashes- Stila Major Lash Mascara is good for this purpose as it looks very natural and doesn't clump. Or you could also try applying false lashes in individual parts or whole strips; Ardell makes some good ones to check out.

-Lightly groom brows with either a brow powder or use a soft pencil and apply using soft short strokes. Set with either a tiny bit of clear mascara or brow gel.

8. Lips- With a yellow dress, you really want to work with peaches, so either try MAC Sock Hop lipgloss over MAC Lollipop Loving lipstick (MAC Spice lipliner), or try MAC Prr lipglass over MAC Blankety lipstick (a gorgeous nude), and MAC Spice lipliner. Other option to MAC would be Stila Peach lipglaze stick or Grapefruit lipglaze over NARS Belle de Jour.

Hope these were some good options for you to consider and have a fantastic time! :)
